Workshop on Fivefold Ministry with YWAM Austria

August 4-5, 2017 (by Laura Massinger) // The Kyrios team had the opportunity to serve Youth With A Mission (YWAM) Austria by giving a two-day workshop on the fivefold ministry based on Ephesians 4:7-16. Anda, Laura, Nate and Insa met in the heart of Vienna with the YWAM staff, leading them through the text and then the biblical definitions of the five gifts of Jesus (teaching, shepherding, evangelistic, prophetic, apostolic). This was followed by practical examples which they were able to exercise right on the spot. Among other exercises like sharing your testimony and meditating on the Word of God, there was a prophetic exercise where people prayed for a number they drew (not knowing who was behind it). The prayers or even pictures they received were very much matching with what those numbers (aka people) needed to hear from their Father. Not only the YWAM Staff were encouraged and thankful for this opportunity, but the Kyrios team as well: hearts being touched, the truth being told in love, and experiencing the abundance & refreshing of God the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit.

“What’s the significance of having all five functions present and active in the body of Christ?” One staff member expressed her feedback, “it makes the body of Christ work fully, not only in one area of gifting.”  Staff leader Harald Höllermann wrote, “It’s essential for reaching the world with the gospel. The church will not experience the fullness of Christ if they are not present.”  Yes!
